AI Sorting Machine experiences?
Hi Fellow Recyclers! With some of my colleagues We will attend on a woman at tech program, where our task will be making real a siiick project with the help of young student girls to introduce them to the world of engineering. The idea for this year is to make an AI operated self-sorting trash bin. I need Your previous experiences if you tried to make a machine like this. We have roundabout 8500 euro. My main questions: - My best quess for microcontroller is the raspberry pi, with a ROS system, which is also can be connected to cloud based AI recognition software. But I am opened to any other chance. As I see Arduino also can have a camera. - The trash would be sorted to 5 compartment: metal, paper, glass, plastic and unsorted(communal waste). Mixed wate quantity has to be minimized. What are the limitations of the AI in capoturing the difference. We may will have time to teach it. - usable sensors: Camera is sure. spectroscopy? Ultrasound? metallic sensors? what else?researchsorting
