Create Plastic Objects With Silicone Mold
This guide explains how to make molds for plastic injection using a Precious Plastic injector without expensive aluminum molds—although keep in mind that high-temperature silicone can also be relatively expensive. Materials Needed: Paper cups Tape (scotch tape or masking tape) Object to copy (e.g., a flower, decorative item) Heat-resistant silicone: https://shop.swiss-composite.ch/pi.php/Silikon-Abformmassen/Kondensationsvernetzend/Silikon-RTV-17.html Optional: Straws (to form injection channels), plastiline or modeling clayproductinjectionHDPEmould

1
Prepare Your Setup
Choose a paper cup that is large enough for your object to hang inside without touching the walls. The object should be suspended so there is space underneath it for silicone to fill. If your object naturally has a stem or channel (e.g., a flower stalk), use that as your injection pathway. If not, create an injection channel by attaching a straw to your object with plastiline. Fix the object securely inside the cup so it doesn’t move when silicone is poured.

2
Mix and Pour Silicone, then Remove the Mold
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to mix the heat-resistant silicone. Pour the silicone into the cup until the object is fully submerged. Ensure the object stays in position—if it begins to float, push it gently back down while holding it by the straw or stem until the silicone starts to set. Allow the silicone to cure completely.
Once hardened, remove the silicone block from the cup. Carefully cut the mold in half (or into three parts if the shape requires it) so you can remove the original object. Reassemble the mold pieces and tape them firmly together. For extra support, place the mold into a slightly larger cup and secure it with plaster—this helps it withstand injection pressure.

3
Inject the Plastic
Use your Precious Plastic injector to fill the silicone mold with melted plastic. Let the plastic cool completely, then open the mold. With some luck—and good preparation—you’ll have a detailed plastic replica of your original object! Trim off any flash (extra material) with a cutter or knife for a clean finish.
