1. Who we are

\r\n

Precious Plastic is a global open-source non-profit working to reduce plastic waste. It is operated by Stichting Precious Plastic Foundation, a registered foundation (stichting) under Dutch law and recognized as an ANBI (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling, or Public Benefit Organization) by the Dutch Tax Authority.

2. What this is: a donation

\r\n

Your donation goes directly towards developing free, open-source tools that help people recycle plastic worldwide.

\r\n

As a member, you become part of how we decide what to build next: we share updates on our work, publish impact reports on how funds are used, and invite the community to weigh in on priorities. These are things we do because we believe in transparency and community, not obligations we owe in exchange for your donation.

\r\n

We may change how we communicate with our community at any time.

\r\n \r\n

3. Your donation

\r\n

Donations are processed in EUR, USD, or GBP, at the amount and frequency (monthly or yearly) you select at checkout.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
Your donation recurs automatically at the selected frequency until you cancel.
No minimum commitment period applies.

\r\n \r\n

4. Cancellation

\r\n

You may cancel your membership at any time, with no notice period required, through your Stripe billing dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No further payments will be taken after that date.

5. Refunds

\r\n

Because your payment is a donation, we do not offer refunds as a general rule.

\r\n

If you believe a payment was taken in error, please contact us at community@preciousplastic.com within 14 days and we will review it.

\r\n \r\n

6. Tax deductibility

\r\n

Stichting Precious Plastic Foundation holds ANBI status in the Netherlands. Dutch tax residents may be able to deduct donations from their taxable income under Dutch law. We recommend consulting your tax advisor or visiting belastingdienst.nl for current rules.

\r\n

If you are based outside the Netherlands, please check whether donations to a Dutch ANBI are deductible under your local tax rules. We cannot advise on foreign tax matters.

\r\n \r\n

7. Your personal data

\r\n

Stichting Precious Plastic Foundation is responsible for your donation data. We collect your name, email, and the amount and frequency of your donation — only what we need to process and acknowledge it. We use this to carry out your donation and to meet our legal and tax obligations as a Dutch foundation.

\r\n

Your payment is handled directly by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe — we never see or store them (Stripe Privacy Policy).

\r\n

The community platform is run by Stichting One Army. To make your membership work across the platform and your account, we share your donation data with them, and together we decide how that shared data is used. One Army handles the platform side under its own Privacy Policy.

\r\n

As a Dutch foundation with ANBI status, we're legally required to keep donation records for 7 years for tax purposes — so we'll keep these even after you cancel. Beyond that, you can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing community@preciousplastic.com. If you're unhappy with how we handle it, you can contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

8. Changes to these terms

\r\n

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify active donors by email before the changes take effect. If you do not cancel before the changes take effect, you will be considered to have accepted the updated terms.

\r\n \r\n

9. Governing law

\r\n

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
